Famous photographers of the 21st century
From photorealism to street photography, the Lumas portfolio contains works by some of the most famous photo artists to ever wield a camera.
Robert Jahns is one of the most celebrated artistic photographers of the 21st centuries. For his strange and playful creations, he has been called the „world’s leading modern Digital Artist“. The fascination that nature exerts on Alex Strohl is evident in his realist landscapes. His works showcase the human encounter with the expanse of nature, set against particularly spectacular landscapes of cliffs over water, often opposite other landmasses. In these portrayals, Strohl distinguishes himself as one of the greatest contemporary photo artists of Wanderlust. Ray Collins, in his masterful renderings of crashing and swirling waves, is one of the great young nature photographers working today. His stunning creations have been featured in Vogue and National Geographic, and are hugely popular among art buyers.

Famous portrait photographers
Edward Steichen, Cecil Beaton and Wayne Maser count among the most celebrated portrait photographers of all times. In their photographs of unknown models and superstars like Audrey Hepburn, they were masters of light and shadow. Steichen's photographs over the course of his career had an impact far outside of the world of fine art photography. Wayne Maser, who creates portraits in the tradition of Helmut Newton and Richard Avedon, is one of the most well-known celebrity photographers of all time.

Famous German photographers
Lumas is based in Berlin, the capital of the European art scene. As such, we take special a interest in the fortunes of art here in Germany.
In his wide-ranging works the Berliner Robert Lebeck portrays the city in the blue hour, as well as famous personalities like Alfred Hitchcock and Romy Schneider. The subjets of Willi Moegle's photographer include glass and porcelain. Through skilful lighting and a sparing arrangement, his objects take on a sculptural character. With an equally sober eye Erich Salomon documented German society of the 1920's. His serious photos became a model for future generations of photo journalists. It is in Salomon's honor that the Dr. Erich Salomon Prize has been awarded by the German Society for Photography since 1971.

Famous landscape photographers
In recognition of his unmatched achievements, Erich Lessing was invited to join the Magnum photo agency, founded by Robert Capa and Henri Cartier-Bresson. Whether the Forum Romanum in Rome at dawn, the Great Wall of China against spectacular natural background, or cityscapes of Berlin: Lessing has a unique talent for capturing the unique atmosphere of a space. In addition to his landscapes, Lessing went down in history for his portraits of politicians like Konrad Adenauer. Olivier Foellmi, who got his start as a press photographer in Afghanistan and the Himalayas, is known for his stunning Eurasian landscapes. For his stunning works, Life Magazine acclaimed him as one of the world's greatest photographers.

Famous fashion photographers
The entry of Bart van Leeuwen to the practice of fashion photography can be recounted as a decisive moment. Inspired by the sparkling, dangerous dramaturgy of Film Noir, van Leeuwen has staged cultural icons and everyday scenes as high dramas. In the course of his career Patrick Demarchelier has taken countless cover photographers for Vogue and Harper's Bazaar. The French star, who worked as an assistant to Henri Cartier-Bresson, stages models and notable people.

Famous nude photographers
The greatest nude photographers master the balancing act between eroticism and aesthetics in the composition of their works. Helmut Newton became one of the most influential photographers of the 20th century with his provocative nudes. Eroticism unfolds more subtly in works by Man Ray, who artistically transforms the exposed back of his model into a violin.
Michel Comte creates erotic murals, which present superstars in an intimate way. Sylvie Blum, widely regarded as one of the masters of erotic photography, has been described by Maxim Magazine as "the Ansel Adams of the nude female form"

Famous architectural photographers
Heinrich Heidersberger is one of the most important German photographers. His life's work is dominated by iconic architectural photographs: whether it's a bank building, a television tower or a gas station - he always shows buildings from unseen angles and thus opens up new perspectives on seemingly everyday architecture. With her project "Changing New York", the American photographer Berenice Abbott documented in 300 black and white photographs the changing New York of the 1930s.
